Talli hai ye zameen. talli hai aasmaan. Perfect Amit Trivedi pop with that slight touch of rock in his orchestration, and Amitabh Bhattacharya writing simple words that anybody would be humming after listening to it for the first time. Nice start to the album to say the least.
Gubbare, Gubbare. Shaam bhi koi, jaise hai nadi. Yes, Amit Trivedi and Nikhil D'Souza combo goes very much into Shaam style, though Amitabh, who also sings in the background here, writes something much less 'poetic' than Shaam even though his lyrics are just awesome. Also, the orchestration has many more sounds when compared to Shaam, and Amit has done some nice experimentations, like Shilpa's sudden entry in the song, and that brass band, without any attyachar. In long, a lot to write about, but in short, nice, worth listening to.
Auntyji. From the composer and lyricist of Dev.D and Emosanal Attyachar. Ash King is used in an all new style here with the jazzy song, and he sounds just perfect, though Suraj Jagan or Vishal Dadlani here would be close here. The music is simple, but the things used in Orchestration is the main attraction, except of course the lyrics which can be understood from the title itself. Liked it, but my guess is it will grow on people with the video a lot more. Yet another genre for the Trive.D man.
OK, enough of jazz n hip-hopping pop dances. Come back to some nice, easy on ears Bollywood music. Sab kuch yahin hai, par kuchh kami hai, teri aahatein nahi hain. Karthik and Shilpa Rao render the slow, soulful number with all the soul, though I think Shilpa could be better, as she, to me, has started sounding a little repetitive when she doesn't sing with full depth.
Jo hua hai wo ho..ta hai. Jo hona hai, wo ho..na hai. Jo tere bas mein baaatein hain, unhe khamakha kyun khona hai. Give the song some time and you'll start liking it. Some jazzy instruments, some anthem'ish background, some light backgrounds with deep straight-from-the-heart singing. That's what Ek main aur Ekk tu's second title song Kar Chalna Shuru tu, is all about. The Remix for the title song, I mean the one we have all heard and seen, is quite interesting, as it sounds more like something being sung in a large hall or in the open, that means with a slight, not clearly audible echo. Like. And yeah Benny is awesome, if I didn't say that earlier.
Take the song, give it to Shekhar Ravjiani. Record it in unplugged mood, add some solid beats and some light processing and call THAT a remix. Well, it's a little confusing, but I guess the result here is not bad with what they seem to have done with Aahatein. I would probably liked it better to have a full fledged unplugged version for the song from Shekhar. Less than perfect. Overall, Ek main aur Ekk tu is a good album, with some variety thrown in by Amit Trivedi. It's not his type 1, with Anurag Kashyap connection and lots of rock, but type 2, something like Aisha, where there is variety, and freshness. However, I can feel a touch of Anjaana Anjaani in the album, in some of the songs. Hope it does as well, in music. :)

I can't even tell the
I can't even tell the difference between Amit Trivedi, Nikhil D'Souza, and Amitabh Bhattacharya in Gubbare! hahaha I am a horrible fan
I like Gubbare and EMAET so far =D
Absolutely love the way Anushka Manchanda and Shefali Alvaris sound in it, they both sound edgy and cute haha. Surprised with Benny Dayal though, not my favorite sound of his, but I know he'll grow on me eventually haha.
And HAILA I HAVE NEVER heard Ash King like that! The song isn't the best but I like how he sounds when non-husky.. i'm so used to listening to him with a load of air in his voice, it's a nice change I gotta say
How can you NOT identify
How can you NOT identify Nikhil D'Souza? He is so, so different from all else. Anyway, the most of the single voice you hear is his. :)

I don't know why but the
I don't know why but the album sounded similar to Break ke baad, may be because of the arrangement of songs or the lyrics specially in case of Gubbare and Kar Chalna Shuru tu..
But overall I liked the variety and the smooth nature of the album, specially Aahatein.
