That was something that made me all the more negative about the music of the movie which is already looking negative from all angles. But Sajid-Wajid actually surprised me here, to an extent. Not because they have made music of some real high quality, but because they have given exactly what Sajid Khan seems to have asked for, something that picks up right from where Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy left it. A big deal, even if SEL didn't make a Kal ho naa ho in Housefull.
Sriram Raghavan is a director I have loved right from his first movie. For reference, it was 'Ek Hasina Thi'. But now that he has come in the 'market', it looks a little scary to me. I mean, the soundtrack of Agent Vinod is something like Race or Players, to an extent. So it's genuine to be afraid, I guess. Anyway, here is a review.
Vishal and Shekhar once again create the best for their old chum Sujoy Ghosh. Yes, a look at the music of Kahani makes me feel so quite strongly.
Aami shotti bolchi is Usha Uthup at her best while Vishal Shekhar try to put the story of Calcutta in a song quite interestingly. Hope you have heard that one already and have an opinion about the song.
Teri rehmatein. well, the name suggests to me that it's a good, Sufi album, especially since it has some big names and it's a non-movie album.
However, the title song, sung by Salim Merchant, was like an average song to me. Not that the song is bad in any way, but after listening to Teri Deewani and Teri Justajoo, this is definitely a little lower (as a listener, I presume the name is in line with the two). Anyway, not comparing, the song is fine, and it's good to hear Salim not singing Kunwara hoon Kunwara. Overall, I'd say the song is okay, worth a try.
Big budget films get passed by Censors in one day. What about small-budget films on social causes?
...
How on earth did AGNEEPATH get a U/A certificate despite such gory scenes and scenes of children being flung as sex slaves ? In all respect to the film, and the directors, the film deserved an "A" certificate. It is quite evident to me that this film deserved an A certificate. And doesnt the word "Ch****a" pass on with a U certificate? is it OKAY for children of all ages to watch and hear words like CH****A and GA**U but not about sexuality?
In London Paris New York, Ali Zafar is not just the actor and singer, but also the composer and lyricist and even the arranger and programmer as well. In short, it's been some really hard work from him. A review of the work is here.
The first song, from London to Paris, is a simple peppy tune sung by Ali with Sunidhi Chauhan. The tune is not too great and won't last too long, but will definitely work fine for promotional purposes.
Sachin Sanghvi and Jigar Saraiya, known as music composers Sachin-Jigar, may not have a Wikipedia page till now, but that doesn't stop them from being already celebrated and one of the most promising, upcoming music directors. The duo, who started composing in 2009 with Satish Kaushik's Teree Sang, were noticed by some music lovers from debut itself, but it took them a F.A.L.T.U. to be known to public. However, they seem to have been doing better and better since then, and their Tere Naal Love Ho Gaya seems to have got a number of hits in the making.
Tere naal love ho gaya had most of its songs lying on the internet here and there already. However, now that the whole album is out, here is a review.
Piya O re Piya by Atif is pure hit material. Sachin-Jigar are good at beat stuff and Shreya's Main waari jaawan perfectly complements Atif's high vocals. Do listen.
Kunwara could have been good but seems Salim-Sulaiman wanted the song to finish soon, going by its speed. Salim's English diction is all fine but sounds a little strange even in its small dosage. And lyrics, of course, don't exist. Overall, passable.
Bipasha has got some nice melody and the arabic style orchestration seem to try really hard, though Salim-Sulaiman's signature doesn't seem to go even on trying. Still, a good attempt and with some promotion, the song may work fine.
